Corporate Social Responsibility

Check In 1st Limited takes its responsibility as a corporate citizen very seriously and is committed to operating in a sustainable and environmentally sound manner.
 
Environment
Check In has identified its most significant environmental impacts as vehicle emissions, energy consumption and waste.  We have begun to invest in a number of initiatives in order to offset our carbon footprint.
 
Vehicle Emissions
  • Check In has chosen two, top of the range, Toyota Prius Hybrid cars with which to expand its fleet.
  • All Check In vehicles are services regularly and emissions are checked to ensure that they are all within the legal guidelines.
  • The majority of our trips are long distance and we use, except for the hybrids, diesel engine motorcars.  These present a higher level of fuel economy and a lower impact on the environment than a petrol engine.
Energy Consumption
Check In recognises the significance of the smallest details and the contribution that they can all make in the drive for a greener operation. 
  • All Check in Staff are trained to shut down all office equipment at the end of each day. 
  • Lights are turned off when not necessary.
  • Check In has built up a database of all clients and records are held, securely, electronically. 
  • Where possible, clients are emailed rather than contacted by regular mail, thereby reducing the use of paper and the need for postage.
Waste
  • Check In have subscribed to Blackpool Council's recycling initiative and all waste is sorted and collected.
  • All paper that is used in the office is sourced through a local stationery supplier and is always either recycled paper or paper that is sourced from sustainable forests.
  • We shred and recycle all paper and, where possible, re-use paper before shredding.

As other initiatives become available, you can rest assured that, Check In will continue its focus to create the lowest possible carbon footprint of any company of its type.
